Betung Kerihun Jungle 5-Day Expedition

4.5 (booked)

Details

Step deep into the “Heart of Borneo” with this epic multi-day trekking adventure through Betung Kerihun National Park—Indonesia’s second-largest protected rainforest. This remote and pristine region in West Kalimantan is rich in biodiversity and cultural heritage, offering a rare chance to experience jungle life in its rawest form.

The journey starts with river travel on traditional longboats along the powerful Embaloh River, followed by treks through hilly lowland and montane rainforest teeming with wildlife. Along the way, you’ll encounter the Dayak Iban tribe and stay overnight in a traditional Betang Longhouse. The expedition continues with nights in jungle tents under the forest canopy and ends with a visit to the incredible Sentarum Lake, known for its rich ecosystems and stilted river communities.
