4.5 (booked)

Details

Ready for a challenge? This 2-day, 1-night Mount Rinjani trek is a fast-paced, adventure-packed program designed for experienced hikers who want to conquer one of Indonesia’s most iconic volcanoes in a short amount of time. You’ll reach the summit of Mount Rinjani at 3,726 meters — the second-highest volcano in Indonesia — and return all within two days.

The journey begins and ends in Sembalun Village (1,100m), taking you through vast open savannahs and up five steep hills known for their difficulty and dramatic views. After a full day of trekking, you’ll camp overnight at Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m), a scenic ridge offering panoramic views of Segara Anak Lake and the towering Rinjani summit.

At 2 AM on day two, the summit attack begins. With the help of headlamps and experienced guides, you’ll ascend in time to catch a magical sunrise at the top, overlooking Lombok, Sumbawa, Bali, and the famous Gili Islands. After taking in the views and capturing your summit moment, you’ll return to the crater rim for breakfast, then descend back to Sembalun Village by mid-afternoon.

This trek is demanding, with long hours and steep climbs, so it's best suited for those with prior hiking experience and a strong level of fitness. However, for those who are up for it, this is the most time-efficient way to experience the thrill of Mount Rinjani, and it rewards you with some of the most stunning views in all of Southeast Asia.

Whether you're short on time or looking for a bold trekking challenge, this route offers a truly unforgettable experience above the clouds.
